New requirement for 2026-2027 School year

There is a new requirement for the annual residency verification for Pomfret’s High School students.  This must be completed in order for the Town of Pomfret to provide tuition and transportation.

As part of our commitment to fiscal responsibility and the proper use of Pomfret tax dollars, we must verify the residency of all Pomfret students attending public high schools. This verification ensures that tuition is accurately paid for each student attending our designated high schools and select surrounding public high schools.  Verification is required for all students entering grades 9 through 12.

Please return the completed and notarized affidavit of residency to the Main Office along with copies of:

  • Your driver’s license
  • A primary proof of residency
  • A secondary proof of residency

Here is a list of acceptable documents for proof of residency for your reference. Please note that one document from each column is required to complete the residency verification process.

All parents and guardians of Pomfret high school students are required to complete this process annually. Even if no changes are needed, the form must be reviewed, signed, and returned to the Main Office with the required documentation.

This process will begin Monday, June 15, 2026.

The office will be open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.  If you wish to drop off the form outside of office hours there is a drop box located next to the main entrance.  Please be sure to include all the required documentation at that time.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter and for your continued cooperation.

Sincerely,

Mike Cummings

Superintendent

The sixth grade annual field trip to Adventure Park occurred the first day of October with cool temps, sunshine and much joy at the ropes course in Storrs, CT. Students had the opportunity to practice perseverance as they faced new obstacles high above the ground while encouragement shouted through the trees built strong peer relationships and resilience. Students reported feeling the freedom of independence to choose just the right challenge for themselves, and look forward to returning with family and friends in the future. The sixth grade team of teachers is appreciative of the PTO’s generosity in contributing to the cost of this beloved trip.
