Early Dismissal Days
Standard Practice
12:30 PM
PCS dismisses at 12:30 when the weather will make travel dangerous in the afternnoon, as well as for some professional development days and parent conference evenings.
- Lunch will be served on its regular schedule
- There will be no afternoon PreK on early dismissal days.
2-Hour Delay Days
Standard Practice
PCS usually follows a 2-hour delay on bad weather days, starting at 10:30 AM
- Grades K-8: 10:30 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.
- Please note that we do not serve breakfast on delayed opening days.
- Lunch will be served on its regular schedule
- Preschool
- No morning PreK
- Afternoon PreK follows regular schedule.
Alternative Early Dismissal Day
Only used in those circumstances that would allow us to avoid a cancellation of school
12:00 PM
- There will be no Prek on 12:00 early dismissal days - both AM and PM will be cancelled
- Lunch will be served on an alternative schedule
- Pickup at Woodstock Academy, Ellis Tech, Killingly and QMC will be at 11:00 am
Alternative Delayed Opening
3-Hour Delay
Only used in those circumstances that would allow us to avoid a cancellation of school
If PCS follows a 3-hour delay on bad weather days, school start time will be 11:30 AM:
- Grades K-8: 11:30 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.
- Please note that we do not serve breakfast on delayed opening days.
- Lunch will be served on an alternative schedule
- Preschool
- No morning PreK
- Afternoon PreK follows regular schedule with normal transportation times and runs
